mdw Vienna

The building that is now home to the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna originally housed the veterinary  university. Architect Gallister refurbished the building, which dates back to 1823, with unobtrusive architectural interventions and extensions that preserve the ensemble while bringing it up to the state-of-the-art.

OHW - Experience

The general tour of this historic building begins in the foyer. You can decide which route works best for you: choose between going down to the cellar and talking to the sound experts in the anechoic chamber, or visit the extension with the new library: a glass cube in the treetops. Groups are limited to 15 people for the anechoic recording suite. The AHDF team offer sound-themed kids’ tours on Saturday from 1-5pm.
